Bittersweet.

As I sat down to right this post tonight, the timing is more than bittersweet. Last weekend, we celebrated Tyler and Jasmine. Travis and Tyler go way back... like high- school-trouble-makers way back. It meant so much to Travis to have Tyler be a part of our wedding and now to share this excitement with the Future Bells is something we are so looking forward to. In the next few days, Tyler will be living out his commitment to our country... protect and serve. As hard as these 7-9 months will be for his family and future wifey, I pray that peace fills your hearts. And these precious moments bring you such joy. We love yall!

Surprise.

About 2 weeks ago, my sweet friend Jill planned a 30th surprise party for her boyfriend, Stephen. Leis, decked out puppies, a monkey, tiki torchers... what better way to turn 30 than with a luau themed party.

Dear Pinterest...

Your recipes make me want to be more like Betty Crocker in the kitchen... especially those cookies, cupcakes, bars, and other tasty treats. Your fashion inspiration makes me want to constantly update my wardrobe. Your hair and make-up tid-bits prompted a slightly darker hair-do and slightly pinker lipgloss. Your DIY crafty-ness led to a recent purchase that will now consume my Saturday. So thank you for making my husband happy with yummy recipes.... thank you for only increasing my love for boots, tights, scarves and skinny jeans... and thank you for putting the idea in my head that if Martha Stewart can do it, so can I.

Love,

Lindsay

Like probably every one else out there, Pinterest has found its way into my kitchen, closet, iPod, classroom and now shower gifts. For some reason my crafty confidence led to a sewing machine purchase and the intention to tackle some of those DIY projects. Up first... a baby shower for Liz and Ashley. Yup - ya'll get to be my sewing trial run. I promise if it turns out TERRIBLE, you won't even see it. :) But fingers crossed that this turns in to a new little hobby. In between College Gameday, UGA Football, an engagement party, church and our couples Bible study, this is how I will be spending the remainder of my weekend...
... Pictures to come after their baby shower!! Got to keep this little project a secret until then!

Pinterest Project #2 of the weekend... Zebra Cookies for our Bible study. Anna made these at my bachy party and they were so so yummy!! And too cute!! In honor of college football, the hot pink will be replaced by UGA red. Our leaders are HUGE Univ. of Kentucky fans... with most of the couples in our Bible study being even bigger UGA fans... let the rivalry begin.

UGA vs. Buffalo?

As I sat down to type this post, I had to ask Travis to remind me who we played... Our conversation went a little like this...

Me: "Who did we play on Saturday?"
Travis: "Missouri."
Me: "Like Mizzou? But I thought they were the Buffalos?"
Travis: "That's who we played last week."
Me: "Right. Like Buffalo in New York?"
Travis: *NO COMMENT*

Well regardless of the "WHO", the "WHAT" involved heat, football, one of my favorite cities, a little rain shower... oh and did I say heat? Football means fall is right around the corner, our tv will be fixed on ESPN, ESPN2, Fox or CBS on Saturdays/Sundays/Mondays, and I get to spend this 9th football season with my hubby. Thank goodness for football and my date to my first ever UGA football game.

Wedding Wrap-Up

Summer brings sunshine. Beach. Lazy Days. And LOTS and LOTS of weddings. Sister reunions, beautiful church and fabulous couple... July brought Steph and Danny's wedding. Sister reunions are probably my most favorite part about weddings with these girls... living doors away from each other for almost 4 years resulted in ridiculous adventures in Athens, adjusting to being almost grown ups, and laughter throughout it all. Even though grown up life has put distance and careers in between, as cheesy as it sounds, thank goodness for LITB. Even though you have a new last name, you will forever be Tuerky to me!
August brought the first day of school and a trip up to Charleston to celebrate Trent and Amy. We had so much fun exploring the city, wandering through the farmer's market and catching up with some of our favorite people. Their wedding was absolutely beautiful with big trees, candlelight and a fabulous old house as the backdrop... totally Southern with their yummy food choices (they had the most AH-mazing shrimp and grits) ... and completely perfect. Happy day friends!
