Tag...

... I'm it! There is a little game of tag going on out in blog world and my friend Cara got me... so here we go...
The rules to this tag game:
1. You must post these rules.
2. Each person must post 11 things about themselves on their blog.
3. Answer the questions the taggers set for you in their post, and create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer.
4. You have to choose 11 people to tag and link them on the post.
5. Go to their page and tell them you have linked him or her.

My turn...
1. If you could have someone do one chore for you for the rest of your life what would it be?
Making the bed... DEFINITELY making the bed. This has always been my LEAST favorite chore... I would so much rather just do it halfsies (fix the sheets a little, fluff the pillows) and call it a day. Plus, its kinda hard to make the bed when this little furry guy finds a spot to curl up.
2. Which song do you always sing at-the-top-of-your-lungs-super-loud-yelling style in your car?
The first song that came to mind is Taylor Swift "Mine"... probably because Cara and I have subjected Travis and Frank to our BEAUTIFUL top-of-our-lungs-super-loud-yelling style on several different road trips.
3. Publix or Kroger?
So easy. Publix all the way. No question.
4. What instrument do you wish you could play?
The piano... when I was younger, my Ma-Ma always let us "play" the piano in her living room. The extent of my musical talent stops at Chopsticks but I wish I could just sit down and play something a little more sophisticated.

5. What did you eat for breakfast?
Multi-grain Cheerios... YUMMM!!

6. If you had to buy your clothes from one store for the rest of your life, what store would you choose?
This one comes down to a total tie... J.Crew and Lilly Pulitzer. The practical, comfy, slightly preppy side of me loves J.Crew... the flats, the tees, the skirts... love love and love. Lilly Pulitzer just makes me happy. The prints, the colors, the constant reminder of summer... love love and love... again.
7. What is one quirky thing you do that others might find strange?
Not sure if this totally counts for quirky... but its a huge time saver in the morning... I brush my teeth in the shower. Saves me about 2 minutes getting ready in the morning... and those 2 minutes mean I get to hit snooze when my alarm first goes off.

8. What TV show is your guilty pleasure?
Vampire Diaries... I just have to know if Stefan and Damon will finally out-smart Klaus. Oh and Pretty Little Liars. Will they ever figure out who A is? Thank goodness for DVR and being able to catch up on all the drama.

9. What is your favorite season of the year?
Summer. All the way. My dad says I have always been a beach baby... instead of waiting until my due date (September), I decided to make my debut in the middle of the summer, right after my parents got back from a beach vacation. Ever since then, I have loved the beach, the sun, and everything summer.
10. When was the last time you felt homesick?
Jamaica... I don't know if I would call the feeling being homesick but it was definitely an appreciation of all the things at home. Spending a week in an environment and community where the definition of "home" was so different than what I left behind in the States left me feeling so thankful for my home and family.
11. If you could be best-friends with a celebrity, who would it be?
Going back to question #2 for this one... Taylor Swift. She seems down to earth, funny, and would be a great shopping buddy... totally hasn't let her crazy fame change who she is and that is pretty cool.

And now for my questions...
1. When you were 5 years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?
2. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
3. If you could go back to high school and revive one fashion trend, what would it be?
4. What is the weirdest food you have ever tried?
5. If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you buy?
6. A picture is worth 1,000 words... what's your favorite?
7. If you could eat only one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
8. What's the one thing you wish your parents would have let you do when you were a kid?
9. NSYNC or Backstreet Boys?
10. Favorite thing that happened in 2011?
11. And what are you hoping for in 2012?

And who I'm tagging...
Bridgette @ B + 3
Lauren @ Our Nest
Elizabeth @ Choosing Happiness
Heather Carraway @ The Newly Knotted
Stefanie @ Nucci's Nook

Happy Happy New Year.

This year, or I guess now it's this past year (weird), we spent New Years Eve at home... with a yummy dinner, bestest friends, funny games, and pjs by 10:00 pm. Travis and I have done the fancy New Years... and while it was great... there is something just fabulous about being able to put on your pjs as soon as you want to. After eating dinner, Cara, ME and I caught up on some MAJOR life stuff. The boys caught up on their football. We took tons of pictures. Watched people freeze in New York. Counted down to 2012. Talked about all things marriage and what we hoped for this next year. It was perfect.
When I look at my Google calendar, I get so excited about all that is happening this year. Weddings. A new name. A honeymoon. A new home. New little ones. New job ventures. And maybe a dog thrown in the mix just for fun! 2012 holds so much in store for not only Travis and I, but for our closest friends and family members as well. Two weeks in to this new year, there is one thought that I am continuously having... God has such amazing plans. In the midst of the wedding plans, parties and excitement that will quickly be coming, my constant prayer is that I remember that these plans will be all the  sweeter when we honor the One who has created them. Jeremiah 29:11.
