Feeling like a kid again.

In 1994, Lion King made its debut... leading to me and my brother having our own little Nala and Simba stuffed animals where we acted out their adventures in our backyard. Yesterday, my mom and I got to take Eli to experience one of my most favorite childhood movies... in 3D!! From the extra large frozen Cokes (or shakes as Eli called them) to the even larger popcorn, and who could forget our secret agent glasses, it was so much fun listening to him talk about the good guys and the bad guys, laughing at Timon and Pumbaa, and watching Simba grow up and go back to save his family.
It was so much fun that Eli could just not even contain his excitement on the way home. And then we had to have a conversation about what the phrase "cat nap" meant.
Next adventures with Eli and Tessa could include Chuckee-Cheese, Stars and Strikes, or looking at the fancy clothes that he will wear next summer as our ring bearer... whatever it is, I know for sure this little one is going to make it more than memorable.

Burlap and Lace. Oh my.

Wedding planning is definitely in full swing. From my dress, bridesmaids dress, and the photographer, to save the dates, invitations, flowers and all of the fun details, things are steadily being crossed off of the "wedding to do list." The day after our engagement, I headed to Target to get all the necessary items to make my wedding notebook... enter Type-A, overly organized Lindsay.

It has been so much fun working with our wedding planner and coming up with vintage/shabby chic details and other DIY projects that will become a part of our big day at Carl House... Check out our ceremony site! I love the bricks and the bridge and the trees... despite the fact that our guests might hate me for having them sit outside in the Georgia heat in late June, I promise there will be lots of pretty details to look at. :)
Other than planning the big stuff, probably one of my favorite parts has been finding the little details. I already love antique shopping and cutesy shops, so wedding planning has given me a BIG excuse to frequent my favorite little places... here are some of the finds/inspirations that have been collected so far...
I should also probably mention that I LOVE LOVE LOVE burlap and mason jars... but how stinking cute is that burlap bow! And not only could it make an appearance in our wedding, but what about on a Christmas tree or on a fall wreath on the front door? The twine... how cute would that be lining a stair case at Christmas with some ornaments delicately placed or with some vintage Santas taking their place on the stairs? And that stool... engaged on the 23rd... marrying on the 23rd... when I saw it, I about screamed in the store. Another piece that will soon find its way into our future apartment, townhouse, house... wherever this marriage might take us.

Since most of the big planning is almost done, I will have the next 9 months to blog about all the DIY projects that will be making their appearance on June 23rd. Burlap rosettes... moss initial letters... place card table... invitations... mason jars... it's a good thing I have a Thanksgiving break, Christmas break, Spring break, and summer break.

Looking forward to the planning and crafting, and sharing all along the way! Much love!!

Happy Birthday to my favorite little one...

Football or a 5 year old birthday party? Yesterday, my favorite little one definitely won out over the Georgia game. Not only is Eli the smartest (now) 5 year old I know, but he is also the cutest and most entertaining. He has a love for presidents, his drum set and now superheroes defeating the bad guys, with a mix of special agent operations thrown in for good measure. We spent our Saturday playing on his new play-set, eating yummy food from the grill, indulging in a Cars birthday cake, and enjoying all of his new birthday toys - think Captain America disk launching shield, Spiderman helicopter that shoots web missiles, and an official army man uniform... everyone got the memo on the new fascination with superheroes.

Happy Birthday sweet Eli... know that you are loved today and everyday!!

Glory, Glory.

There is something about September rolling around, the colors red and black, and making the drive down 316 that makes me oh too excited for another football season. But it isn't just the football that makes me happy... it's having a reason to head back to Athens, walking around campus, eating at the classic Athens restaurants/visiting some new local faves and getting to see some of my bestest friends. September 10th... UGA vs. South Carolina... despite the loss, Travis and I had such a great Saturday driving up with our couplefriendsbestfriends, catching up on life, and then spending time between the fraternity house, walking around downtown, and taking in Sanford Stadium. Thank goodness for football season.

Welcome to Miami.

A couple weeks ago, our highschool besties headed to Miami to celebrate one of Anna's last few weekends as a Reid. I can't believe her wedding is now only two weeks away!! But first, we enjoyed some time in the sun, yummy food, and some interesting "locals." Welcome to Miami...
